An impressive early 16th Century oak coffer, Normandy, circa 1500, having a deep plank hinged top, above a series of four Gothic tracery carved panels, each of different design within broad mason’s mitred rails, the muntin rail below the iron lockplate carved with a single roundel and the scratch date MDLXXI, a pair of linenfold carved panels to each side.
